The Recycled Timber Table BP top was chunky looking without the weight. The border on top is 75mm recycled Oregon, but the planks in between are thinner. The Recycled Timber Table BP is a whopping four and a half metres in length and over a metre in width, it’s massive.
The old age imperfections, scratches and nail holes, were left as features on top of this table, lots of imperfections and character which was evidence it had a previous life before it started its new life at Possum Creek.
Product Description
Size mattered, so to begin with we used a nice solid reclaimed piece of 75mm Oregon for this Recycled Timber Table BP. The table was a whopping four and a half metres in length, and over a metre in width. We used thinner planks in between than outside to keep the weight down.
Old age imperfections feature. These imperfections and character is evidence it had a previous life before it started its new life at Possum Creek.
For ease of moving, in addition our client requested castors on the legs. The length of the legs remained our standard 760mm height in case at a later date they wanted to leave the table stationary. Because of the sheer size, a middle set of legs and cross member were added for stability.
We never know what timber we’re going to salvage, and quite often it comes complete with wire, nails, bolts and even old hinges still embedded or sticking out of it. To eliminate the danger of our tools hitting a metal object as we assemble, we run a metal detector over the timber. Even though old metal is removed, or smacked back in to the timber in some cases, we try and leave as many of the old age imperfections still present to feature as you can see on top of the table.
We get it, everyone is different. Because of this all our recycled tables are made-to-order. We encourage our clients to be a part of the design process. Meaning that each recycled piece can be custom designed to suit your preference of material, finish and dimension.
