Recycled Timber Setting TG

Recycled Timber Setting TG

The old age imperfections were left as features on the tops of this setting and instantly the result was impressive.

We never know what timber we’re going to salvage, and quite often it comes complete with wire, nails, bolts and even old hinges still embedded or sticking out of it. To eliminate the danger of our tools hitting a metal object as we assemble, we run a metal detector over the timber. Even though old metal is removed, or smacked back in to the timber in some cases, we try and leave as many of the old age imperfections still present to feature as you can see on top of the table.

Even though this Recycled Timber Setting TG was made to order it can be reproduced to suit your size, style, colour or timber choice.

* WE CAN SOURCE THE TIMBER TO MAKE THIS PRODUCT, BUT PLEASE NOTE WE ARE ONLY MAKING THESE TO ORDER AT PRESENT. DON’T HESITATE TO ENQUIRE FOR LEAD TIME. *

Description

The Recycled Timber Setting SB has tops of salvaged mixed hardwoods. The timber came from a house demolition and bears the signs of a past life. Old age imperfections like the scratches, nail holes and cracks were left as features the tables top and its bench tops. Differing from other recycled settings we make, we cut down on weight by using rough sawn Cypress 4 x 4 timber for the legs. The overall result was very impressive.

This setting is not so much long, but nice and wide. With so much timber there’s a great variation of colours and the yellow-brown to pale reddish brown colour ranges really dominate.

The planks used on this setting are generous in proportion, likewise strong and the setting can easily accommodate up to 12 people.

RECYCLED TIMBER

We never know what timber we’re going to salvage. And often it comes complete with wire, nails, bolts and even old hinges still embedded or sticking out of it. To eliminate the danger of our tools hitting a metal object as we assemble, we run a metal detector over the timber. Even though old metal is removed, or smacked back in to the timber in some cases, we try and leave as many of the old age imperfections still present to feature as you can see on top of the table.

We get it, everyone is different. And because of this all our recycled tables are made-to-order. We encourage our clients to be a part of the design process. Meaning that each recycled piece can be custom designed to suit your preference of material, finish and dimension.

THE SOLID TIMBER MAN

This setting is part of our The Solid Timber Man range manufactured from scratch on site at our factory in Queensland. All The Solid Timber Man furniture pieces can be purchased separately or Mix & Match to suit your needs. Predominately we use Australian grown Cypress timber along with other Australian timbers. This setting on the other hand has been manufactured using reclaimed hardwood timber for the top, and the Cypress frames have been fastened together with heavy duty bolts. Unlike cheap imports which use flimsy screws that can’t be tightened and wear holes over time.

Cutek® CD50

Each piece of timber outdoor furniture from The Solid Timber Man range has been pre-coated twice with Cutek Extreme CD50 oil. Cutek is an oil based wood protection system that penetrates deeply into the timber where it works to control moisture from inside out. Likewise Cutek products do not peel off or crack. They do however impart exceptional long term stability to timber. And they enhance the natural beauty of wood without obscuring its natural characteristics and features. Check out the Cutek difference video.

Product coated with high quality timber protective oil Cutek® Extreme CD50 ready for outdoors.
Cutek® Extreme CD50 won’t form a film instead diffuses through timber controlling moisture from the inside;
significantly slows down the rate of moisture exchange between wood and the environment;
stabilises timber by controlling moisture for many years, minimising movement;
is not a film so does not need to be removed before recoating, greatly simplifying maintenance.
